#healthymichelley is SORE and TIRED!

FITNESS

Today called for rest and relaxation. My glutes are very tender today so I foam rolled the crap out of them hoping to ease some of that soreness.

I also spent a good 40 minutes in the steam room - putting my body and mind into a state of total relaxation.

What the heck is Foam Rolling?

Foam rolling is a method used to release the tissue surrounding your muscles. The tissue surrounding your muscles is called your fascia.

This release of your fascia is called Myofascial Release. Essentially, it is an alternative medicine therapy that is used to treat muscle soreness and pain. Foam rolling is a method of Self-Myofascial Release.

Benefits:

  • Increased blood flow throughout the body.

  • Better movement.

  • Increased range of motion.

The above listed benefits result in...

  • Decreased chance of injury.

  • Decreased recovery time after a workout.

And decreased recovery time means...

  • More training sessions per week/month!

FOOD

Today's Meals

Breakfast: 2 Eggs Scrambled / 1 Beef Sausage / Orange Slices

Lunch: Egg Whites and Tuna over Romaine Lettuce with Cherry Tomatoes, Celery and Cucumbers / 1 TBSP Calorie Wise Zesty Italian Dressing

Dinner: Steamed Chicken and Vegetables over Spinach drizzled with a Szechuan Peanut Sauce.

Snack: 1/2 Banana / Greek Yogurt Cup

Beverages: 1 Glorious Cup of Black Coffee (*so good!) / Green Tea / Peppermint Tea / Lemon Water / Water
